All photos by me.

Merely a small compilation of the photographs I took throughout my day in Paris. I had such an incredibly wonderful time. Paris is such a beautiful and picturesque place. It has completely stolen my heart.

My main reasoning for wanting to go to Paris was to go to the Louvre. My expectations didn’t even remotely live up to the reality of what a magnificent place it is. The artwork inside is incredible, and the architecture.. wow. The detailing that has gone into some of the rooms is something in itself. I could spend a day just admiring the beauty of that alone.

Visiting the Louvre has completely re-opened my love for art and architecture. Knowing I’m not on the career path I thought I would be for over 10 years of my life is hard as it’s something I was so set upon and I think that is why I gave up on art and architecture. That’s about to change.

Paris, you were amazing and beautiful. I can’t wait to come back and discover more of you.

Have you been to Paris?  Maybe you’ve written a post on your time there, leave a comment and link me. I can’t wait to read about your times in Paris.

A day in Paris

Long bus journeys are nothing to me and so after travelling altogether for almost 24 hours I had finally arrived in Paris, albeit 2 hours later than I was supposed to. Just as well I didn’t have any kind of itinerary or plan for my day ahead or it would have completely messed that up.

When I mentioned to people I was going to Paris just for the day many thought I was mad, but honestly it was great. I think if I had went for longer it would have been great too but the day has just made me long to go back again and again.

Just a very small selection of pictures from my day in Paris which I’ll speak about more later on.

All I can say is, if you want to go to Paris, go. I’m not going to lie my day was spent pretty much being your typical tourist but it was worth it and it was great. I feel like I had a day jam packed with so much and I would have probably done more had I organised my time but sometimes it’s good to just go somewhere and not know what the day is going to consist of, and that’s exactly what I did here.

Paris, you were amazing. Until next time.. Au Revoir.

First trip being 23

If you read my previous post you’ll know that yesterday was my birthday and I turned 23. Well today I’m off on my first trip being 23 and also of this year (out of Scotland at least).

Currently sat on a megabus heading towards Paris from London, having already travelled from Glasgow to London earlier on today. I’m really excited as I haven’t been to Paris since 2009 and even then that was a trip with my school so I didn’t get to fully experience it.

image

I’m only heading there for the day but I can’t wait to jam pack it with lots of sightseeing, wandering, eating and whatever else there is to discover.

A few of you gave me some great ideas on what to get up to in Paris on a previous post of mine and I’m thankful for the advice on where in Paris I should visit.

If you have any other advice of places I must go/see, little places to eat/drink etc then let me know!

Nobody likes you when you’re 23.

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22.. wait a minute, that doesn’t seem right. No longer can I sing along to these T-Swift lyrics and mean it. I’m moving on in the world and Blink 182 are now who I’m connecting with lyrically because as they once said, nobody likes you when you’re 23.

Incase you’re putting 2+2 together and getting 5, I’ll spell it out for you.

Today is March 19th, which for me also means that I’m the birthday Princess today.

Birthday selfie with a birthday pout.

I know 23 isn’t exactly old at all, but I feel like it is. I’ve always felt like this though and I think it’s because my birthday is the first of my friends so I hit an age first before any of them. Well before any of them actually with the first being 5 months after me and the last of our group being 10 months after. I’m a bit of an odd one out with the 5 of them all having birthdays quite close together.

But enough about them because it’s my b-day.
I’m going to spend my morning of my 23rd hillwalking with one of my best friends and then spend some time with my gran and auntie.

Tonight consists of me going to see Little Mix (which I have not a single regret about, they’re so good) and then I’m going to get steam boat’d oot my nut. Which probably isn
‘t the best of ideas as tomorrow morning I’m heading to London and then Paris, but that’s for another post.

Happy birthday to me.

Hope you all have as great a day as I will! And I just wanted to say, thank you all so much for following my blog and actually taking time to read my posts and comment, it means a lot.

Paris is calling

What do you do with less than 24 hours in Paris? How do you prioritise must do’s and sees against the not so quite important things? I’m currently searching for the answer.

With my upcoming American road trip I don’t exactly have a vast amount of money to spare when it comes to taking trips and travelling at the moment. Hence the less than 24 hours in Paris part. I’ve managed so scrape the money together to get a bus from Glasgow to Paris. The way I see it is more of a birthday present to myself, (I’m 23 the day before I go).

I’ve searched the depths of the Internet (sometimes ending up in the deep, dark part of it), all to try and find the must see and do things while I’m in Paris. With less than a full day in the city I want to spend my time wisely to see as much as I can but without rushing it either.

I will obviously be a bit of a typical tourist visiting the eiffel tower, the Louvre etc but I also want to see the parts of Paris that the Parisians for the most part have kept so well to themselves. I want to discover secret, hidden away places that most people wouldn’t dare to take a second glance at and delve into to discover the wonders of. I have a few ideas of where to head to but would absolutely love to hear from you all on where I must go or what I must see.

Paris is somewhere I’ve been meaning to go back to visit for such a long time now. My last time there was 2009 on a school trip that didn’t end quite so well for me but that’s a story for another time.

Where are your favourite places to go in Paris?
Whether it be a park, a cafĂ© or even a book shop. Leave me a comment and maybe I’ll be able to see the places that steal your heart in Paris.

Is it March yet?

Just earlier today I happened to post about my travel goals and how I was planning this year to visit Barcelona or Paris as they’re basically within a stones throw of the UK.

Well.. Now I’ve got plans in process and it’s happening soon.
It’s my 23rd (feel like I’m getting so old) in March and I had 3 weeks worth of holidays to take in work, which I’ve taken in March. This means my whole month is basically free and I thought if I don’t do at least a little travelling then, when will I?

So I got thinking, where can I be going that will be a cheap trip (with America to save for I really probably can’t afford this, so needs to be as cheap as possible). I decided on Paris.

Wheels of planning are in process now. I’m going to go to Paris, probably just for the day or two and then London on my way home. I’m so excited, the last time I went to Paris was 7 years ago 2009 and it was a school trip so I’ve always felt I’ve never really experienced Paris to its fullest. I’m definitely going to make a change to that!!

Please help me out guys, if you had to visit Paris for the day what are all your must do activities, must see places, must eat/drink at?

Although I want the tourist aspect of it I want to see all the little nooks and crannys of Paris that most people probably don’t see.
Leave me a comment if you have any tips/advice!
