101 – sign up to the new contract in work.

Well, me writing this post means I’ve completed this from my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days.

For a few months now we’ve had the idea of a new contract in work brought to us – it would mean earning a whole £1 extra an hour taking a section leader like myself to £9.50 an hour – which I definitely didn’t want to say no to. But there were a lot of unanswered questions for us and it definitely took us a long time to come to the decision as to whether signing this contract was the right decision for any of us. But.. I’ve done it. I signed up and now I’m just waiting for the paper contract to come through to sign that – no going back now.

It won’t come into play until October/November but definitely looking forward to it and the extra cash I’m going to be earning each month. I’ve got to say a £2+ wage rise in under a year has made a massive difference to my life! 

Yay for promotions and new contracts increasing your hourly rate of pay!
